The Challenge
Operating from a Grade II listed building, the retailer relies on multiple comms rooms to support its IT infrastructure.
Each room contained different IT loads and layouts, requiring UPS protection capable of providing several hours of battery runtime during a mains power failure.
Installation also needed to account for restricted access, ongoing maintenance and the store’s long trading hours.
The Solution
Following a power audit and site survey, appropriately sized UPS systems were installed across the comms rooms.
The installation complemented the store’s wider server room infrastructure and included:
🔹 3kVA UPS systems
🔹 4–5 battery extension packs per UPS
🔹 Rack-mounted bypasses
🔹 Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
🔹 Remote UPS monitoring
Work was completed out of hours to minimise disruption, with the installation and handover completed in just over four hours.
