The Challenge
The client required a complete lighting upgrade within a large industrial facility used for demanding operational and maintenance activities.
At more than 230 metres long and almost 20 metres high, the building presented a challenging environment for both lighting performance and ongoing maintenance.
The existing installation consisted of ageing high-bay luminaires delivering inconsistent lighting levels across operational areas and narrow access walkways. Manual controls also meant lighting could remain switched on when areas were unoccupied, contributing to unnecessary energy consumption.
Key challenges included:

The Solution
DTE delivered a complete LED lighting replacement scheme designed around the scale, layout and operational requirements of the facility.
High-performance LED luminaires were installed at high level to provide improved illumination and greater uniformity across the working environment.
Particular attention was given to ensuring sufficient lighting reached narrow access areas despite luminaires being positioned at heights approaching 20 metres.
Intelligent occupancy controls were also incorporated into the solution, allowing lighting to respond automatically to activity within different areas rather than relying on manual switching.
